Center of Excellence for Journalism Education in Sierra Leone (CoE)
A significant and one of the most desirable outcomes of the MRCG-SL’s media reform agenda is the proposal to establish the Center of Excellence for journalism education in Sierra Leone that will ultimately become the School of Communications.
The Center will be a model academic program, committed to research and scholarship, symbolizing the best pedagogical and professional practice and aiming to produce students with exceptional skills as practicing media professionals and communication specialists.
The programmatic renewal, reflecting the needs of students, changes in our society, and trends and expectations of the global community will guide and define the Center’s processes as it progresses toward achieving its mission, goals and objectives.
The Center will also facilitate “knowledge spillovers” to other institutions offering programs in journalism and mass communication.
